People are interesting. One band, we rehearsed a song for weeks - then canned it because it just wasn’t working (Can’t Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake et al. That’s a TOUGH tune to pull off with bass, drums, guitar, 3 vocals....) we could very easily play it - it’s simple, but didn’t have the personnel to really bring the tune.
Second band - we learned this song, we HAVE to perform it no matter how bad. Because we learned it! Never mind that it will suck....
so yeah...
never be afraid to learn a tune then dump it before ever performing it. This is The Way. It has to sound good.
