Old Dog, New Trick

De-lurking

Hello all. I'm an older guy, used to sorta play guitar from age 12 until my early 20's, but never was any good. Now almost 20 years later, my son started playing guitar, so I picked it up again - forgot most everything I used to know except chords & scales. Thought I'd pick up a cheapo bass and give that a go so me and the boy could play a little more harmoniously - ended up with a fairly nice Schecter bass and a real desire to learn to play bass well. I feel kinda funny taking lessons at the local music school my son attends, but I'm learning more about music than I ever did "teaching myself" guitar. I can't afford a good mid-life crisis, so I guess this is it!

I went to music school studied string bass and got a degree. Then life happened lost all of my equipment and didn't play for over 20 years. It takes all kinds. I am taking lessons from a teacher half my age at a local music store that is for mostly young kids. For me just being around music again in any form is fun. Good luck....
