It was also the best I have ever played. As you guys know a good drummer makes all the difference in the world!

I figured out what his secret is. He plays the song EXACTLY like the recording. No unnecessary fills or embellishments. I bet he could play the entire song by himself and would not get lost and all the fills/breaks would be in the right place.

At one point he disagreed with the BL about one of her songs. Well we played her CD and sure enough he was right! He knew the singer/songwriters songs better than the singer/songwriter! So we fired him. We can't have him showing us up. Just kidding. He's a keeper.

I thought you were serious about him getting shafted because he knew better.

Because you know that actually does happen...

But I'm glad that's not the case. In my lifetime, I've only ever met two drummers I've really gelled with.
