Hey,
Just found this place. I just started getting back into playing after over a decade of barely picking up an instrument. Now that my daughter is older, I am dedicating my Monday nights to music.
I was looking to get a new bass to get myself back into playing. Then I thought about my old Gibson Ripper that was destroyed by the humidity in my dad's attic. I decided on making it exactly what I wanted it to be. All the vintage value of it was pretty much destroyed (I have some old parts and a case if anyone needs though they are very pitted up). I started my project. The Ripper is currently getting a makeover at a local high end antique furniture restoration shop. I have Bartolini soap bars and preamp, Hipshot tuners, Babicz bridge and currently a clear pick guard which will eventually be replaced with a very special custom one. I can't wait for it to call come together. Body should be done in 2 weeks, then the hardware installation, then the fret job and setup, then the new ( very special) pick guard. I'm so frikin psyched, but its taking forever. I even got a new Jack Cassidy case that will keep it safe with a slight mod. Wish me luck.
