Double Bass old Kay’s neck projection?

I've a question to all repairers who are more familiar with Kay basses than I am (we don't have many Kays over here in Germany).
I'm currently doing some repairs on an old Kay bass (Model 100, serial #10923). It's in really bad condition. The neck has is two-piece with ebony shim at the center. It's slightly warped, since it has had a crappy hardwood (?) "fingerboard" nailed on for the last three decades
But my main concern is the neck projection: it's really low.
At the end of the fingerboard, the clearance to the top is about 9 cm only (top of FB to belly). This results in a small bridge height. I wonder if it's the common neck projection for a Kay bass?

Kays usually have an overstand of ~7/8" - more or less 21-22mm. Sounds like you'll need to add a tapered neck shim.

Factory Kays tend to have a neck angle that winds up with a bridge height of about 130mm, which translates into being too low for a bow to clear the C bouts. There are a number of ways you can change the neck angle to wind up with a higher bridge height, so that you end up with something closer to about 165mm.

yes, I’m already working on the tapered neck shim.
The plywoods became delaminated at many spots – they've used some kind of deep reddish colored glue for lamination. Looks weird.
