Well, I've got one on the way (It's been on the way for a couple of months. He says it'll be ready to ship in two weeks). Although the pictures xush posted really made me cringe, I like the tone. If mine has a tone like that, I'll be ok with it considering the price.

But then, I'd play a rubber band on a cigar box if it made a noise that I liked.

:p

well, here's a few clips of the Wishy FLAT.
Turns out there may have been some bass boost going on previously thru the J-retro box.

This is guaranteed flat, not even any level boost. Just straight into the board.

I tried to get a little E-string pedalling in to show how it stacked up against the other strings...

I don't know, it sounded a bit hard to my ears, or possibly slightly distorted.
But that can perhaps be EQed out?

could be, if you have off-board EQ. Only one knob on the bass, and the output seems really low.

Slammer, I think a well-built Wishy might be kind of neat to have around...it is an interesting tone. This one is just too difficult to play though, it's almost like a half-finished project. I've seen some on ebay that appear to be improving construction-wise. The biggest drawback to this one is probably the reverse bevel on the body angles- it really does hurt!

And I appreciate your kind words- I wish I could even aspire to be worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence with him. Long way to go!

I took the bass to rehearsal last night, told my band it was a custom job I paid $1600 for. They were polite at first, but were concerned that it seemed a little rough. I couldn't pull it off for too long though...

Well Done!!!

I actually got tired of waiting for the reviews, bought one off Ebay (photo attached)...It sounds great, neck is upright thick but playable...it is on its way back to him as the neck needs to be resanded as the d and g strings fret out and rattle when I play Eb or Ab. I'll decide from there if I'm keeping it.

Has kinda a Jerry Garcia vibe to it.

wow, a 5 string huh? Looks pretty good. He had a 3 string a while back that tempted me.

This one does the same buzz-out thing on the G-string. Must be a common symptom. A little more sanding would be good.

If your tone is anything like this one, it is kind of interesting huh?

Definitely some Alembic-inspiration there, I'd say. Did he call it a 'hippy' something-or-other? Hope it works out for ya.

Yes, he did. I'll keep you posted on it if I take it back. He has to get it to play clean at the same action.

i saw another one like that with the body similar - i think he calls it a locust. i like that body style, believe it or not. :)

Well, I've still got the Wishy...had it for a while now. Both Adron and I have been way too busy to do much else with it; he still needs to get over and sign it.

Here's my quandry:
I'd sure like for everybody to be able to check it out at the Bass Summit, but that's not till August 23, about 2 months away. I don't want to keep it too long if it'll cause any problems.

So I'm putting it to the donaters; can I keep it till then, and ship it out to Prime Mover immediately after the Summit? Maybe she'll even be here at the summit to pick it up?

Or would you folks prefer I expedite matters and slight all my summit buddies of the extreme pleasure of getting Wishified?

I'll do whatever you folks prefer. Already mentioned it to Connie, she seems copacetic either way.

I could maybe donate ten dolla.

Sorry, donations stop being accepted months ago. I'm fine with it staying at the Bass Summit; like Jared said though, everyone should sign it.
