Howdy!
I am an old (60) newbie to the bass who is having a bunch of fun learning a new instrument. I (try to) play several other instruments: guitar, ukulele, a bit of banjo, a smattering of mandolin, drums, various bits of hand percussion, saxophone, the occasional keyboard, and whatever else I can find to make noise on.
I've had a couple of Squier Classic Vibe and Vintage Modified basses around the house because, well, because you can never tell when you might need a bass and it's better to have something and not need it than need it and not have it. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.
Anyway, I recently decided that I needed to up my bass game if I wanted to make passable home recordings and I've gone a bit over the top. I added a couple more basses (a Sterling Ray4 and an Ibanez SRSC800), a Fender Rumble 500 amp, and a couple of pedals (Boss OC-5, EHX Battalion and Enigma:Qballs, and a Markbass Compressore) and have been learning a few easy bass lines. I'd love an upright bass, but that's sometime in the future.
I'll try to post some specific questions in the appropriate subforum, but I thought I'd check in to the new member area first.
