My old "dial the station in" radio. I had my new truck more than a year now and still cannot figure out how to find a radio station.... Dag-nabit

You must be trying to listen to ye olde AM radio. Yeah, these new radios do not have fine enough adjustments to find AM stations. It's such a simple function, but they leave it out. And the antennas are usually junk.
Downy bedclothes you plug yourself into. Electric blankets come up short
I love my wristwatch, it's old school with a second hand and hash marks instead of numerals. Battery powered however, which is ok by me.
It is only worn when I am in non work mode, mostly as a decoration I suppose but it is soooo handy to not have to press a button to find the time.
Smart phones are great but they are bulky to just carry around and when in use as a GPS need to be plugged in; also they are generally costly devices. To carry one around to keep time with when not using it for other things (like texting while doing yet something else) is cumbersome IMO.
I'm always looking around to find my iphone, is it in the car? Did I leave it in my jeans? Is it on the floor with the screen cracked to smithereeens? Is it updated properly? Is it running out of power? Is it overheated again? Did I pay the bill this month? Why is it running sooo slowly? Am I sitting on it? Where is the charging cord? Is there any storage left? Hmm, and the data? How much data is left for the month? etc. etc.
With a watch (yeah I know 1 function or possibly two if you count it as a fashion accessory) it's either on my wrist or on the desk where I keep it.

Newspapers. I will subscribe to the local print newspaper until they quit or I expire, whichever happens first.
My current digital watch cost $10, has a 10-year battery, always knows what day it is, and it's waterproof.
On my old Altima manual V speed the shift lever moved around as the engine shifted because of worn out motor mounts. An OK car to drive and fun sometimes but not as quick as an AT by any means. I do lean towards having an AT these days but have a soft spot for all my prior manual autos.
I sold the Altima to an over the road trucker who had trouble shifting because there was no need to double clutch!
It's my impression that on modern cars, "overdrive" is just yet another gear. A friend of mine had a Sunbeam with an electrically controlled overdrive unit that I think was separate from the transmission. But I don't know if those exist any more.
The same can be said of Jazz.
