I've heard that these amps are rated lower than they are and are as loud as some 300w'ers today. Thoughts?

Been playing Trace heads for 20+years. The older UK Made stuff were very conservatively rated. If it's made in the UK, it is probably more like 225 watts, but will peak at around 300.
Yep. British made. Might get a 1x15 and 4x10 to pump it out.

i've got a TE AH150 paired with a TE 1X15 and TE 4X10 and this baby punches it out it's much more powerful than my Ashdown MAG600
Had one paired with a single EV 15" and it was pretty loud. Enough to keep up with a big band with 10+ horn players.
Sold it to buy a SWR Basic Black ... rated at 160w (into a 15"), which was (is) much quieter.

Bought my AH150 7 new in 82 ish, it has never let me down I have looked after it and it has served me very well.
I used it with a ported 410 and with the gain set around 8 the master was never needed above 4, I always thought it was far more powerful than quoted.
I think these amps were really pure sounding, probably due to lack of unnecessary wiring and switches giving the signal more life, coupled with very high quality components they put Trace firmly on the map.
