Hey folks.

I came across a Godin BG4 (i think) in my crawlspace. Bought it years and years ago, never played.

I'm looking to sell it to a friend, but I have no idea a fair price for the model and year.

Tried getting in touch with Godin, but they couldn't offer an idea of the original purchase price.

Anybody out there have an idea about a fair price for this dude?

*edit - Added pics.

A friend of mine just purchased a used Godin 5 string with a few dings on it, no case. He paid $350 for it. I have an SD4 which I paid $199 for and a BG5 which was new that I bought for $350 with case. I think a fair price is somewhere in the 350-450 range. Yours looks like it is in fantastic shape, really nice looking bass. Godin makes some great instruments but, not many people know they exist so, the resale on them tends to be low. I've added a couple pictures of mine for reference for you. Also, there is a Godin Club here too. You might ask the same question over there, other owners may have a different opinion on its value than I do.

Godin bass is so under rated & under price. I bought a BG5 when it just came out in 1998 for Cad$1200. I got mine used 4 years ago just for Cad$200 in good condition. It's so cheap on the used market but it's a great bass. It's better to keep rather than selling it in cheap price.
