How old are the oldest Shen willows out there?

I dont know the oldest Ive seen was one made in 2008 at the bass violin shop: Invalid Link Removed Amazing bass though just played one yestarday. I recommend going to shens website: Samuel Shen Musical Instruments or doing more research around the web.

Mine was made in 2006, I'ts a 7/8... I don't think the 3/4 came out until later but I can't be sure.

i now remember when i was in the store yestarday playing this bass the shop owner said one of his students purchased this bass from him about 10 years ago and played it with the top band at the University of Texas or somewhere.

I bought a 3/4 Shen willow almost 2 years ago now. The original owner said it was about 5 years old a the time. I have no way to verify that, though he seemed like a straight up guy and I don't know why he'd need to lie about it.

The year of making should be on the lower right corner of the label, if it's still in there!

Yes!! Couldn't remember your Forum name, but now I do. So that's about right, 2004. By the way, really enjoying the bass!!
