Honest true story - bought a Tony Levin 5 string OLP
June of 2006...Showed up with a "S" warped neck -
not possible to adjust to proper relief - otherwise a
nice sounding and looking bass for the money
Contacted the store - Sparks Music in Nevada and OLP.
No replacements available...Just sending it back to
swap out the neck was "not possible" (said OLP).
Fast forward to June 2007 (!) They finally tell me they
have a replacement available...Only it's peach instead
of natural - I say whatever I will take anything at this
point!
Are you sitting down for this part?
They send me my own defective bass back.

First they try to tell me "oh no, it's another one"
sorry....This one had the same little defect in the maple
on the back of the neck in the same spot, and the same
mediocre fret work EXCEPT for the 12th fret which I had
crowned and polished due to a burr - done the day
I got it, before I realized the neck was NG(knew that
by day 3)
Then they tried to tell me "they must have fixed it"
Sorry...Unless you steamed off the fretboard and
replaced the truss - which is how you fix an "S"
warping neck. "Umm no, we wouldn't have done that"
they said -
Took them a few days to "find" the peach one they
claimed to be sending...It DID finally arrive....
Much nicer build quality than the first especially
the fretwork! Seems this one comes from the new
factory(?) the supposed reason for the "no stock"
all this time was a relocation of production in China.
So - 15 months later, I got what I paid for
My advice is don't by an OLP unless they have more
in stock when you do - Or get one at yer local store.
Of course...YMMV
