OMG!!! KEELEY COMPRESSOR PEDAL!!!!

I was looking into getting a compressor pedal for my bass. Played through a Boss CS-2 (not a 3. it blows) and it was alright.

My guitar player let me play with his Keeley Compressor pedal and heaven opened up and my life has been changed.

It was the MOST CLEAR compressor pedal I have ever played with. Not only was the signal clear but it made my Bass clearer then I have ever heard it.... AND I PLAY A 5 STRING!!!!! It made that low B SING SOOOOOOO GOOOOD!!! I put a little bit more bass boost then normal and I nearly pooped myself.

All I'm saying is if you are looking for an AMAZING compression pedal get this. They are expensive BUT you can find them for 150 sometimes but you are getting all the bang for your buck

Are you using the C4 (4 knob) or the 2 knob version?

I've used the C4 and thought it sucked bass. Clear highs yes, but no lows, no boom boom. Alotta hiss too. Getting rid of it was one of the best things that happened to my signal chain.

Why would the two knob be better for bass? According to Bongo's review (who opined there was a noticeable loss of lows), the difference between the two is that the four got rid of the internal trimpots. Now you can tweak them with a knob.

So, got any clips for us?

I don't know about the 4-k but I got a clone of the 2-k and I don't notice any significant loss of lows and it is very clear as the OP said. I might try to get a recording before I give it to our guitarist (I got it for him, as I already have a DOD milk box that I'm happy with... But if I had to find a cheap replacement, I could easily go for this).

P.S. I'm not super experienced with a lot of gear, compressors in particular.
