On-Board preamps: Bartolini vs Glockenklang

I'm considering another one to replace my John East on a Jazz.

I am ready to purchase the glockenklang preamp but i keep postponing it because i am worried of the 18khz as choosen frequency for the treble boost.
Is it really a usable frequency?

The only experience I have with a Glockenklang was the 2 band one that was on a Dingwall Afterbuner 2 I had, the treble was very usable, it was not at all like a Aguilar treble control that easily becomes way too much boost after like a 1/4 turn. You could almost have it at max and it wouldn’t be too much and add a nice treble sparkle.
