I would have liked to see more time but 6mo is not bad

I am screwed with the whole trucker thing, he scammed me and there's nothing I can do really........

thats six months more than he would have got here......think of it this way...only one more strike

Cris Kirkwood was sentenced yesterday (Aug. 2) to 21 months in prison for attacking a security guard with a baton outside a post office. The 43 former Meat Puppets bassist pleaded guilty May 10 in Mesa, Ariz., to a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. He was shot during the Dec. 26 incident at the post office in downtown Phoenix and authorities said he was on probation at the time for a 2000 drug offense. According to the criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court, Kirkwood was arguing with a woman about a parking space outside the post office when she approached security guard Thomas Goodrum. Kirkwood yelled profanities at Goodrum, then shoved the security guard. In the ensuing scuffle, Kirkwood managed to get Goodrum's collapsible baton away from him and hit him on the head, knocking off the guard's eyeglasses. Goodrum then pulled his handgun and fired a shot into Kirkwood's back, the complaint states. Kirkwood, who was on probation for a prior drug offense at the time of the arrest, could have received as much as 27 months in prison.

Yeah, that wasn't really his temper--that was the end of a long, long descent into drug addiction for Cris Kirkwood. He stopped playing in '96 or so because he was so screwed up. Then his wife OD'd, he eventually lost all his teeth, gained 100 pounds, etc. before this incident.

Fortunately, he stayed clean after spending 18 months in jail, the band reformed and they've recorded two more albums (and they're touring).
