I came across this quite by accident really.
I played the bow while the DB was amplified. Full range arco stuff, making the stings dance madly on the instument. Had to make quite a bit of adjustments as the DB vibrated much more. Finally I managed a nice enough arco sound that did not have low feed backs nor scrattchy highs.
My mayor surprise was to find out that the same setting worked great on my pizz sound. Nice definition, clarity, punch. It took some getting used to at first cause there were definately less low overtones. These came to live when I cranked up the volume a little.
What a diference.
Try setting up your amp sound with the arco even though u might not use the arco.
