What's up guys? I just joined here today and figured I'd give a quick introduction.

My name is Tim, I'm 23 years old, and I was born missing my left hand (exactly Bill Clements style, opposite hand). I used to play the drums and have since traded my kit for an older series Danelectro, and I can't say I regret it at all!

I've only been playing for about a month now but I've learned quite a few good techniques for my "hindrance" to still play efficiently. I usually play alongside a good friend of mine who is tough on me, but very patient and sound coordinated. I've yet to learn to read music, so that's my next major challenge. Any tips on where to look, or book recommendations would be appreciated!

Hopefully, by reading this forum a lot I can better myself and start kickin the real groove style!

I feel weird welcoming new people to the forum since I'm totally a newbie myself, but welcome anyway! I'm learning how to read music right now too--the last time I read music was almost a decade ago and I was never good at it anyway--so we'll learn together!

I started with the Hal Leonard Bass Method Complete Edition - which has volumes 1, 2, and 3 in one book. Got it from Amazon for a very good price. Or you could get just volume 1 for less. I found it to be very approachable, well written, well organized, clean layout. Not to put down any other books... that was the one that my teacher chose and it was pretty good
