Whats up fellow thumper! OK so I have a very rare Suzuki p bass...killer bass on par with my American Fenders no lie..anyway I ruined my original neck attempting to make a fretless to no prevail..so after years of searching I found Suzuki made a fender style neck also..not what came on the bass but at least it's from suzuki..well the issue with this neck is the 15th fret don't work 13th 14th and 16th work just fine but the 15th buzzes and blends with the 16th fret, ive filed and crowned the frets ,put different neck bolts in checked the neck for a twist its beautifully straight..any ideas guys and gals? This is a vintage bass from the late 80s and I'd like to keep it in working order,I play it almost daily without using the 15th but..one fret never heard such a thing but I can show anyone that doubts me...thanks in advance for any tips on fixing this thing..oh it's a maple fretboard and neck if that matters

Two reasons here:
1. Low spot on fret 15 under G string
2. G string has a ding in that spot.
For the first you need a fret rocker to diagnose (it should rock on 14 and 16 frets, search youtube about it ), for the second replace the string.

It’s possible the 16th fret is popped up slightly on the treble side and it pushed back down when you were leveling them and popped back up as soon as there was no down pressure on it from the file or sanding block. Examine the 15th and 16th and see if they’re seated all the way.

Could beEEe. If so, a drop of CA and a minute of pressure on the fret will fix it up. I would expect the 14th and maybe the 13th to buzz as well though.
