Have you considered an SR505?

Also, you could get some really nice used 5Strings for that price.

I have considered. I love my current ibanez, so it's a good option. Anything that you would say makes the ibanez better than the above two? Or just price difference

The ESP is 34" scale and the Damien 35" so you best try the damien at least and see if your ok with the larger scale also take a look at cort`s Ibanez and peavys and used stuff lots of sweet stuff at your price point !!

Thanks for your 2 cents man. I'm taking a trip to sam ash + guitar center today to check a few out and I have a few basses written down that I want to check out.

I currently own a P bass V Amer. which is a killer bass but over your budget. I like Washburn instruments and would look at : [This invalid link has been removed]
If I didn't aready have a 5 string .

Hmm I'll see if I can find one of those today and give it a try. Thanks :D

the sr505 sounds AMAZING and is definitely worth checking out. be wary that the string spacing is very close on the 505, so it might not be your cup of tea.

Yeah close string spacing really isn't fun >.<. I play with my fingers and they often get in my way when I come across a bass with small string spacing

I've had the Damien 4, it's a great bass for rock and metal with the EMG HZ pickups and basswood body, though I'm sure it would do other music genres fine as well.

505 is good too some people don't care for the Bartolini preamp in it, though. Very versatile bass. I've had one and it looks way better in person than it usually does in pictures.

Just what I know, never had an ESP, they have a reputation as metal basses.

I guess just try them out and see what you think and what you like best. What we like may not work for you, and only you can find that perfect bass that will be the one for you to take home.

Thanks man. I'm looking to play rock and metal (more so on the metal side) so I'm looking for a heavier sound.
