Hello! Does anyone have a reference for a online bass teacher ? My current goals are getting into jazz and reading heavily. I live in Japan, so the time factor may be an issue. Unless anyone knows an English speaking bass teacher in Japan. Thanks and have a great day

@Jimmy Aloha : I also give lessons online (multi-cams, via Skype) and could teach you how to read music, but I am about as far removed from being a jazz aficionado as a person could probably get.

I am up at all hours of the night due to PTSD (I don't sleep much).

Have you considered looking into BassBuzz (Josh) on Youtube? I find him to be extremely knowledgeable and a good teacher (not many are).

Talkingbass.com offers many high quality courses and there is sheet music in the course manuals

He also offers a three volume course on reading which would probably be a good match for you
Thanks for the recommendation but I am looking for a jazz style teacher. I have been self taught for 30 years……I really need some direction from a professional. I think it’s about time for some serious study.

Hey Jimmy please feel free to check my website www.enricogaletta.com for any questions. I already had students in Japan so I'm familiar with the time zone too .
Ciao. Enrico

Josh is a great teacher, he is not only a good professional, he knows how to create an individual curriculum for each student. I remember his video when he reviewed emotion essay examples for https://gradesfixer.com/free-essay-examples/emotion/. Josh said that if the lessons bring out pleasant emotions, then the students do not lose motivation. And among his students there are beginner musicians of different ages and they are all satisfied with the quality of teaching. I think this channel can be very useful to start learning.

BassBuzz A really good teacher, for beginners to understand what they are striving for and where to start learning is a good idea:bassist:
