I'd like to try an online program to supplement a book in my learning to play, but have no idea where to start. What's a good and easy to follow online program to help me learn how to play? (I ordered a copy of "Bass Guitar for Dummies"). I'm on a budget, so if there is a good app to try that's free, that would be wonderful! Thanks!

Take look at Scott Devine’s YouTube channel. There seems me free stuff on there. Scott's Bass Lessons
+1. Having too many tutorial sources (especially for someone starting from ground zero) can often be counter productive as you are inclined chop and change. This inhibits a clear and defined learning path. IMO the "Dummies" book has all you need to get off to a great start. After you've gotten through the book, then by all means explore other books/apps/on line courses.
