Only $2,000 to improve your amp's performance

One of the problems is it's difficult to quantify pain. But I've seen published studies where there have been ~25% more people in the glucosamine & chondroitin group who felt better, compared to the controls. But this was only in the severe cases.
My own experience with it dates back about ten years, when I was first officially diagnosed with arthritis. At that time I could not kneel without experiencing severe pain, and going up and down stairs wasn't fun either. On the advise of my doctor I tried glucosamine/chondroitin. After 2 months the severe pain subsided, and since then my symptoms have not worsened. Maybe the same would have occurred had I not taken it, but I'm loath to stop taking it to see if the pain returns. May not help, can't hurt, and the $10 a month isn't a deal breaker. If it cost $50 a month I'd have a different viewpoint, just as for $20 I might consider an ESP power cable, but not for a dollar more.

Stay on topic kids, I appreciate the medical analogy, but you KNOW how things spiral out of control here..........

And oh yeah, go empiricism and the scientific process. ;)

:D Actually, if I remember correctly, there is a study somewhere that shows that if you wrap one of those $200 power cables around your sore arm, your joints will feel better.

I am glad you are doing well. The irony of the post in this context made me LOL, however :-)

Funny thing is, for my Fx elbow, one of my treatments is an electrical bone growth stimulator. My doc calls it voodoo and so do I. But they give it a try. It's a cuff that generates an EM field. Sounds awesome if you hold it next to any plugged in transducer - not.

Almost 30 years ago for me (thanks Mom). I'd give $14.95 if they doubled the offer in the next 10 minutes?

My mother has very similar experiences to yourself, serious joint pains to the point where she can barely move, but when using glucosamine & chondroitin she seems to get on better. If it works, use it! :)

Really? I read a study about putting them somewhere else to make yourself feel better :hiding:

With meds, you're talking about an incredibly complex system (ie the human body) where pathways and cause/effect are not simple or obvious. This is why prescribing meds/treatments is often a black art, especially with herbal remedies and things like acupuncture. Just too many variables to predict a priori.

With a power cable otoh...that ain't rocket science. You don't have to worry about c-AMP levels being affected by unexpected dehydrogenase inhibition, yada yada yada.

By comparison electricity is pretty straightforward...say hello to mr. electron!

How the human body works isn't fully understood, and we are after all electrical devices, so this falls into the category of 'might work, but we lack the knowledge required to prove or disprove it'. How amplifiers work is fully understood, by some of us anyway, and that's why the cable mountebanks can't prove their claims.

I tried that electrical bone growth simulator that IvanMike describes, but my wife was still not impressed. Maybe I needed a better power cable.

Sorry... I couldn't resist:D

wait, you mean they aren't all ball bearings anymore?!?

Sorry Fletch, it isn't that simple anymore.
In fact, if we all don't switch to a cable of this type soon, the proliferation of new bass players and amp ratio to the time/space continuum, well we maybe in for some trouble if we cause a tear.......just sayin'...:help:
And the next thing you know is the best rapper will be black again, the best golfer will be white again and a village in Kenya will get it's idiot back.

So, please, I beg, be careful!
