Only one thing to say

I will play this baby at my next practice (if my band has a next practice) our lead guitarist has dropped out... One thing I will add- if you want to slap a lot- this probably aint the head for you- you may be able to get a cleaner slap sound but not sure yet. It definetely makes it TUBENESS felt at every setting. Which I love! It seems to push my bass out forward even at lower volumes. Amazing.
The only THING holding me back from tube goodness all these years was weight, but this bad boy is about 13 pounds i think, But man is it solid, it is WELL built all the way around. Respect to Ashdown. Also of note- for those on the fence I am ab/ing this against my GB SL900 and the GB SL900 is a VERY TUBING sounding amp as well (even though it is a hybrid). I just wish they made a lower wattage version, because the 900 watt version is overkill for me.

Yeah I wouldn't call any of it sounds pristine clean- which I assume is the case with most tube amps having some "hair" on them.
This whole thread is just really stating my amazement at the loudness of what from the pure numbers you would think would not be particularly loud at all, but if the gist is watts don't mean crap, then I agree. But I will state, there is not going to be ANY 15 watt SS amp that is a loud as this thing if we were to compare. Am I saying that means every tube head is alaways at a 5:1 ratio, no. But in this case that seems to be correct or more.

Obimark, thanks for the review. Sorry to hear of your guitarist but better now than later. Did you get the gig-bag with yours? If so, does it feel cheap or of quality? I'm THISCLOSE to getting one. Oh, and I don't slap, spank maybe...Oops, TMI!
