My Upton hybrid got its first real ding last night - unfortunately all my fault. The bar I was playing in is so small that I wanted to leave the case in the car, so I unzipped both sides too far. Moved the bass to get it out and it slipped out of the case and hit the pavement on the backside bottom edge. Not real hard, but enough to lightly scrape the edge for about 1".
Should I smooth out the rough edge and put a little furniture scratch cover on it? Or just let it age naturally? It's much less damage than on the edges of my older Kay, but it is new so I'm wondering if I should do anything?
