Opening for Y&T tonight

Show was at the El Rey theater downtown. Old movie theater converted into a live venue. Show went very well. Hope it leads to more opening spots for national acts coming through town.

Have to admit that I too was unsure of who Y&T was before last night. Had heard of them but was unfamiliar with their music. They were amazing. True professionals and blew the doors off the place.

El Rey was a cool venue in it's day, and I'm sure it is again. Redding has done the same thing with the old Cascade Theater.
I used to play Duffies in Chico, and years before that a place called the Top Flight.

The Top Flight. I remember now. The upside down shot chair wher you put your head in a sink from a beuaty salon. Had so many shots I played pool for 1/2 without dropping a ball before just giving the table away. Wouldn't of thought it was possible. Great club on my visit.

Top Flight is now The Crazy Horse
country bar. Not a place you'll find me. Did play there several years ago and yes it is a beatch of a load in. Was a time before class D amps and neo speakers.

Yep. Used an swr 2x410 stack back in the day. Dance band from Redding called Uptown. Think I played there a couple times when it was the Crazy Horse w/a band called Yankee Rose.
Played Duffies w/Slam Buckra and the Groove Palookas!

good on ya, man

I'm kind of a sucker for Y&T, so I would have dug it. I love the older bluesier stuff, but I loved that 80's more pop stuff too like Don't Stop Running, Lipstick and leather, and Summertime Girls. Great vocals on that stuff

Looks like Meniketti is the only guy left from the heyday.
