Several years back I ordered a Carvin Icon that was HH w/Piezo but I didn't care for the neck profile. When I sold that and ordered my Carvin B25, I didn't have the budget to have the piezo as it was bundled in with a bunch of cosmetic stuff I didn't want or need, so I just got it with 2 of the radiused humbuckers. I've played may gigs with it where I didn't always need that mwah tone and it still worked great. I don't think that my older B25 is any more magically versatile than any other similarly equipped fretless, but it's comfortable and works well for me. Fretlesses don't always have to sound like fretlesses.
