It looks like it might have gotten a new neck altogether, with the old pegbox and scroll grafted on. If so, that's a major but standard repair procedure if something bad happens to the neck of a bass, and the workmanship looks good from this distance.
I was just guessing from the pegbox picture. That's where I would look for a glue joint. But an honest and well executed repair doesn't diminish a bass.
