Opinions on what new 5 string i should get

I love the Sadowsky P-J 5 string myself and the Warwick Streamer Stage II is the bomb. Go try working out and then get a Warwick!

I recently purchased a new Modulus Quantum 5 bass with dual Bartollini soapbar pickups, and I have to say, it's the best 5-string bass that I've ever played, great tone, great playability, great versatility, well, great everything in my opinion. It is a bit on the heavy side, but not bad. It's also a bit pricey if you get a new one, but If you look around, I'm sure you can find a good deal, if you want a more jazzy sound I would suggest checking out the Genesis models, very sweet basses. Ever since I first played it I've been a Modulus man ever since, check em out. Oh yeah, it was well worth the price.

I've heard that the Ibanez BTB 5 strings has one of the tightest B strings and sounds really nice Just my 2cents..

Too bad BTB series costs a bit but its the best model by Ibanez..

I have no connection to, or interest in this guy whatsoever, but somebody over at bassgear.com is selling a mint-condition, months old Pedulla Rapture J2 5-string for $1000. I would jump on it if I played the 5.. I've tried these basses and they play and sound great. Just thought I'd pass this your way.

I wish somebody around Dallas had a 'fish I could play, I don't really want another 5 string, but I would like to play one sometime, or heck, I'd even like to try one of their 4's!

The thought briefly crossed my mind! Sounds like a killer, just two things standing in my way: I don't have $1,000, and I don't play the 5. Oh well.
I'm an ignoramus as far as Texas geography.. how far is Dallas from Austin? Reverend has a dealer in Austin, that's their only one in the state. Roadtrip?

This might sound messed up, But MAKE YOUR BASS. I am sure you have been playing long enough to think of your dream set up. GO TO Link Removed I love my warmoth neck!!! My next bass is going to be thier Gecko 5 man it is nice, looks like a tobias and a sound gear put together. they do every thing, except assemble it!!! superior quality!!! And you get to choose your pickups...you can buy them from any one! Not to sound like a comercial, but just look in to it... I love my fretless 5-string neck. they put steel bars in the neck for stability, and you can tell the difference.

Hey Dave thanks alot for the tip. I saw a Pedulla on there for 700, not 1000. But, i didn't really look thru it all either. I'm in the same boat as you, i don't have 1000$ sitting around here, especially since i just bought 2 basses in the last 2 months.lol Actually, i'm kinda hoping Santa will bring me the $ to get a new 5 string for x-mas! About a 5 hour drive at traffic speeds, don't have time for that

Maybe one day I'll get down that way, or maybe somebody in Dallas will become a dealer.

IMO, the Roscoe Beck 5 is a great bass and you can get a lot of really great tones from it so you can get the sound you want for the style of the song you're playing then flip a couple switches and get a different sound for the next song.

The Godin is a really nice bass. I really like their fretless. I'm thinking about getting a fretless Godin to go with my RB5. Actually, I'm torn between the Godin and the Gary Willis but I'll probably get the Godin because I like it's very URB-like tone.
