That looks like the guitar version for that particular style.

TY - I wonder if it's a good idea or not to keep from fraying the strings under the current designed trees?

Maybe just a little extra bling?

If you aren't wildly retuning the strings, then there is no worry about friction against the string tree. The majority of the movement of the string happens the first time you install the string.

After that, it's a microscopic movement as you check tuning; most of the issue with friction at that point is in the nut slot.

I kinda see it both ways. Being kind lost in though isn't a new thing to me - but this time I might tend to leave sleeping dogs alone.

I've never seen a frayed string on a standard string tree - including the ones that have been on my P-Bass for 38 years. IMO it's not needed.

I was just thinkin' that it might be a friction point that could complicate tuning - that's all.
