I have this amp in my Ibanez Promethean P3115 (same amp in a combo). I have changed the speaker to a Eminence kappalite 3015. I couldnt be happier with the tone, very much old school. The PHAT control gives you a lot of EQ variation from crisp highs CCW to boomy lows CW. I keep the gain control at 9 Oclock and the Master at 2 Oclock and get a very clean sound with my G&L2500. The power on indicator is also the output clip light...it changes color as you go into clipping. It rarely changes color even at high volume.

The amplifier case stays cool at high output and the fan has yet to come on. The controls have a smooth travel and feel of quality. A nice touch is the AUX input as I use that to play mp3s for the band at rehersal. At 300W and 1-15" speaker its all I need to back up my 2-guitar and drums band (they both run 22W Fenders). I use this set-up for rehersals and small clubs. I love this amp head and combo.

In the states the P300H is just hitting the stores as of January so not too many owners of just the head yet.

Yeah. The Promethean line is very well done. It's a shame more stores don't stock them.

There was a P500H 500Watt but I think they discontinued it. It's not on thier site anymore. If you can turn up a used one you'd be lucky.

Finding used Promethean heads is difficult. Nobody seems to want to part with them. That's good and bad! I'll keep looking but then again the 300h can be ordered for $299 shipped brand new so.......=)
