Opposing music styles

What styles of music do you love equally and play or listen to that are complete contrasts to each other?
For me it's opera rock and metal. ELO is my favorite band, and I really dig David Bowie. However, the 2 most influential bass players to me are David Ellefson and Rex Brown.

I still like the '60s/'70s Pop I grew up with...and I like Free Jazz.
My iPod is loaded with Three Dog Night, Motown/Stax, Santana, Chicago, Bread, The Monkees, etc :D
...and Coltrane, Ornette, William Parker, Cecil Taylor, John Zorn, etc.

First (& last time) my iPod was volunteered for an old farts' pool party...with shuffle ON...was pretty funny when Albert Ayler roared out after "Spinning Wheel".

"Old-skool" funk: acts from the early 1970s like Ohio Players, Commodores, Parliament/Funkadelic, Graham Central Station, James Brown, Headhunters, etc.

and

20th Century Western Art Music -- aka "Classical" (sic) -- composers such as Stravinsky, Bartok, Varese, Schoenberg, Debussy, Sessions, Ives, Webern, etc.

Does it get more opposing than that? :)
