opti-grab... am I the only one...

Am I the only person who actually likes or uses the opti-grab on the nikki sixx blackbird bass? Every review I've seen, people just say it's useless or a marketing ploy but every time I play a different bass I find myself reaching for it.

I'm just curious to see if anybody else likes or uses it.

basically its to anchor ur pinky around it and just pick at the bridge ,i guess because tbirds are notorious for neck diving, the opti grab basically works on leverage to keep the neck from diving.

Oh, I get it. Here's an even better idea (prolly show up on the 2011 models): why don't they mount it on the bottom bout of the bass? That way you could stick your **** thru it leaving your hands free to actually play the bass.

My red Mk.II Nikki Bird, I guess this means I have one ( probably the only chrome plated one ever lol!) but I don't use it as my pinky finger is too short to reach it.

I've never really used mine - usually I pluck up by the neck pickup. But if I do pluck close to the bridge, I find myself anchoring my pinky on the tail end of the bridge itself Same concept as the optigrab. I saw a guy use the opti-grab to run his cord through and had a bandana tied to it...
