Orange AD200 position on Ampeg 810

Hey everyone,

I just bought a new Orange AD200 Mk3 which I intend to use with my Ampeg SVT 810E cab. But now it seems that the amps feet don't fit with the feet cups of the cab and the amp just sits on the corners of the cups.
Maybe I'm just a bit stupid here, but how do you handle this situation? Unscrew the amps feet or use the lit of an ampcase?
I play relatively loud and I'm a bit afraid the amp could vibrate from the cab straight to the floor. ;-)

I would not worry about it at all. I have an ad200 myself and use it on a variety of cabs. It is heavy enough that the thought of it vibrating off has never even crossed my mind.

Normaly I wouldn't think about it either, but because the ampeg 810/e has those plastic cups for the feet of an ampeg svt head instead of a plane surface and the feet of the orange are standing right on the corners of those cups, it looks a bit loose...

I play my AD200 on my OBC810 which has no cup holders and it has never vibrated off. In fact I'd say it's not even moved a millimeter. I feel you will be fine.

I understand what you mean. Is moving the feet an option? Do the foot screws/bolts connect to anything else other than the external sleeve. In the past I have relocated feet by a small amount by making sure the new fixing hole is still covered by the foot when it's returned to its original position.
Usually moving the centre position of a foot by 10 to 15mm gets it away from the cup.

Hm, I'm not entirely sure. It seems that it doesn't, but on the other hand the main pcb is in the lower part, maybe the feet are holding everything together.
But wouldn't moving the feet mean I have to drill new holes for the screws? Seems a bit drastic

I moved the feet on my Reeves so it sat better on my skinny Aguilar cabs. They just wood screw in.

Move the feet. Nobody looks at the bottom of an amp.

I was thinking about buying a flightcase and use the lid to put the amp on. But then again I'm afraid the lit is too slippery...

Self tapping/cutting wood screws avoid having to drill. A piece of thick carpet is another option. I would move the feet. Almost anything else will look worse (if you're bothered?).

I'll check the feet. But I would rather not cut screws in the brand new amp. I'll check everything again, when I'm back at our rehersal room tonight. It would really be a shame if I can't bring the orange in a good an secure position...

I ran AD200 on my 810E for months while my SVT was in the shop. Was playing with a super loud hard rock band at the time. We played a pretty good amount of shows with that set up and it didn't budge.

Had it on a old B25b cab with the cups as well and it stayed put. Never came off the edges of the cups.

You can just straight up remove the feet on the Orange and use some adhesive rubber feet in their place.

No new holes and the adhesive will clean up fairly easy should you choose to resell.

I put adhesive feet on mine for a spell and it worked fine.

I also echo the assurance of other posts; the amp will not vibrate off the cab.

The only time you have to worry about a head vibrating off of a cab is if you're using a Class D and are obnoxiously loud.

I have never had a head with matching cab that fit in the cups. I used the following combo's:

Acoustic 370 + Dually 2x15
Heritage SVT + Warwick 610
GK 400RB-IV (in a plastic case!) + Warwick 610
Fender Bassman 135 + Avatar 212
GK 400RB-I + Avatar 212

None of them budged an inch. Ever. Also on the Bassman, I added a second set of feet on the inside of the originals so it would fit on top of the Avatar which wasn't as wide. No issues at all.

i have the same issue with my bass terror on top of my hartke 1x15 but unlike your head, my bass terror isn't heavy enough to not move around. stupid more efficient lightweight technology...

You could make some wood or plastic plugs to fit in the cups on your cabinet

Shift the head over 1/2" so the feet are sitting flat on the cab.
