I am trying to record my fx pedals and and capture the tube sound of the head through my amp speakers. For that I am mic'ing just fine into DAW,

As the Orange has no DI, their team told me to use a DI box. I have the Radial Pro passive. However I am stumped on how to record on two channels at once, get the clean orange head (di) sound and the mic sound. I have used the Slave out in various iterations with the DI box, but it doesn't sound good at all. It feels like I have to record the Orange with the DI box by itself, and then mic after, meaning I play the track twice .

What am I overlooking there Orange AD200 owners? I am ready to sell this and grab a AMPEG SVT VR, love my tube heads but when I bought this used years ago didn't consider the pain recording would be with it..

Or can someone suggest a tube pedal?

so, you like the sound if you plug into the DI directly and don't like if it's amp's line out to DI?
try putting a DI in front of your amp then.

but yeah, writing a direct signal and later reamping it might be better, especially if you need some editing on the recorded tracks. plugins like SVT Suite also might work good enough for you not to reamp at all.
