Orange Crush CR50BXT 50w bass combo

Hey all, thinking of grabbing one of the above amps. (and for $299, i didnt think it was a bad price at all)

has anyone got one? or used one before?
how do they go?
im after something a little better than the marshall 30w ive got at the moment, plus my brother has just gone up to a 40w valve and the other guitarist has a 60w so i think i might need to keep up haha

its for practise gigs only (possibly do small outside gigs later)

thanks for the replys guys, might check it out at allans tommorow, might also check out a hartke 100w.

its not that we play loud music or quite music (mostly pearl jam, cpl of foo fighters & some raconteurs)

but yeah, some times struggle to hear the bass over the drums & guitar when it starts rockin' (as to be expected with a 30w i guess haha)

These have me interested, especially to 100w 15". To me it's between that and the new GK MB115 combo, when ever it (GKMB115 )decides to materialise in Australia, I know I can pick up an Orange today if I like. I'd like to know if the new ones are an improvement in terms of sounding more like a bass amp should rather than just having more watts.

Own it. Love it. Loud enough to practice in my garage. Wanted the 100w, but couldn't find one anywhere to test, let alone buy. I am just rekindling my love affair with bass, and I think it was a good buy. Orange quality, mid range price, sounds good. Not much to argue with.

Got the 100watter yesterday.

You'll need more than 50 watts to keep up with 2 guitars in a rock band setting. 50 watts isn't going to be noticeably louder than the 30 watt combo you have now. Now might be a good time to get into separate head and speakers. If you go used, you can probably get a 300 watt head and a 210 for about the same money as one of those combos. Check the classifieds here and Craigslist locally.

It's my fault! I just wanted to know about the line-out... ;)

It's best if you start a new thread and not resurrect a years old thread. A lot of us will simply ignore these threads.

I cannot help with your query as I have never seen the amp in real life. It IS easy to find out by listening to the line out while rotating the various controls and see which ones affect it. :)

Easy to know, as long as you own or have the amp with you, which isn't my case...

Regarding the old VS new thread, I've always thought that it's better to keep the info grouped together, so that's why I did not started a new one.
