Orange juice vs oxford

It is! My favorite pedal they ever made, and I've owned a majority of them, and almost all the bass variants (including the PSA-1)

Reverb and Ebay. You can find a mint one for 85-130 or so. I actually wrote tech21 about this, expressing how great and poorly marketed to bassists they are. To me, it's so much better than the VT.
I had a PSA-1 too! I had a VT for a while but never cared for the sound.
I found an Oxford, hopefully it will get along with my other pedals. :)

Can you give a brief comparo of the Oxford vs Rusty Box? I noticed on your Sound Cloud that they both sound somewhat similar, but I'm listening through laptop speakers. Unless the Rusty Box you listed is just the title...! Great clips by the way!

I can get similar sounds from the Oxford, but something about the Rusty was "weird?" with my mids(less adjustment, maybe). I think it had more highs too, and at the time I didn't know my Ric's single coils weren't grounded. I liked the pedal, though. I definitely liked the beefier mids of the Oxford, though.

That elusive tone in my head is a combo of metallic clank/grind and midrange grunt. I guess I picture a P bass dragging chains behind it. XD

And, thanks!

The Oxford will be here tomorrow...I'm sure it will sound great with the P, but I hope it plays well with the Stingray...the output is sooooo hot on it. We shall see.

Funny that you've mentioned p-bass. the same dude from the clip I've posted earlier also demo both the joyo orange juice and the golden face on a fender precision bass.

The orange juice demo is at 1:11 and the golden face is demoed after words. would like to get one of these pedal sometime soon.

Just as suspected, I plugged the P bass into the Oxford and was rewarded to a wide variety of sounds and tones, including some really similar to the clips @FaithNoMan posted! Next up was the Stingray and it was fizz city. I knew this would happen since the Ray's output is high and it really is best suited to a limited style of effects...or none at all. HOWEVER, I started stacking the Oxford with everything from Joyos Ultimate Drive to the Grizzly just to experiment and was pleasantly surprised when I let the Oxford just add a little color. It's going to take some time to learn, but I'm liking what I hear so far. Thanks again, Faith!

Hmmmm I think I might like the golden face more......

Same here...as much as I am curious about the golden face, I would like to try out the orange juice. on those clips I've posted, they seem the have a killer grind. and the dude on the clip did tell one guy on the comment section that the orange juice and the golden face works well on bass. so I'm thinking of buying on of these pedals.

I don't hear a lot of chatter around here about the JohnK Orange preamp. Can go from clean to complete balls out distortion. I can't say enough about it but I'd really love to give the Oxford a try as well. I see Orange now offers a Guitar preamp pedal, if only they would get in the Bass Preamp/DI game!

That modded Oxford looks great.
Related…I finally got an Orange Juice and man, do I like it. Haven't had it very long but I really dig it so far.
Seems to add a bit of natural compression, esp. the more you increase the drive…the voice knob is a nice mids shape adjustment.
For me, it can get big and tubby, or clanky and grindy.
Very impressed with the range of tones available (haven't tried it in a loud mix yet).
…and I like the flavor of OD it has!
Recommended.
