Orange OBC 210 cab

Does anyone have any experience with this cab? I'm interested in adding a 210 to my Orange stack so I've been looking at these.
It appears though that they are no longer being made. And the ones that are available cost an arm and a leg.

What is your current Orange cab that you are looking to add to? The 15? The 410?
Most everyone on here will advise against mixing driver sizes, and will advise just getting a second version of what you currently are playing if you want to add speakers. So if you're playing the OBC115, get a second (and same for the 410).

I can speak to mixing the OBC drivers, as I own a 115 and a 410 and have played both cabs on a few occasions. For all intents and purpose, the guys on the forums are correct about the negatives in doing so.

That said, if you're looking at trying to get one of the 210's, which as you mentioned (and I think you are correct) are not even made anymore, the prices I'm seeing for that cab are just shy of what you could purchase a new OBC410 for. I would think that should be a deterrent enough for you to look elsewhere.

I've run nearly every combination of cab together and I've never noticed a problem with it.

Anyway, unless your amp is 2 ohm stable, your idea will not work.

well than go for it. I also like the 210/115 or 212/115 combinations but a combi of 2 identical cabs works best for me (no issues whatsoever)

Why not just get a third obc15 if you don't have enough volume?

I think he's lookin for some different sounds. I dunno when a pair of obc115s (the kappa version) should not be enough, volume-wise.

But yes, the orange cabs are not cheap. I'm in the process of building a pair of tl606 cabs with the kappa, sounds identical to the obc but the pair costs less than one obc. the tl606 plans will work for a 2x10 as well.

What amp are you using? As mentioned above, your idea is a moot point if your amp is not 2 ohm stable.
I assumed since you said Orange stack that you were using the AD200b (maybe that's not the case).
If so, it's a no go.

Because the head is not designed to function at 2.67 Ohms, and that will be the load it will push if you add another 8 Ohm cab.....probably not a great idea.

Maybe its OK to run a ADB 200 MK III in 2,66 Ohm - modus by using the 4-Ohm settings on the amp. I don't believe that Orange amps are too picky by using a mismatch. Orange is one of the few brands that allows "Tube Pulling". Theyr transformers do look pretty massive.

So what about contacting the Customer Service of Orange? They will tell you if the mismatch will harm the amp or not.

I would definitely contact Orange before assuming it's okay. NO WAY I'd take any chances on frying that expensive of an amp.
I'd bet more money than not though that they'd advise against it.

OP, it's clear you like Orange and have some cash in your pocket. As someone who has GASed over an Ad200 on 2 OBC1x15s and still sometimes does, I get your tonal goals and somewhat envy you.

I'd recommend getting two more OBC1x15s and stacking them all vertically. It will work with your amp, sound awesome (and familiar), and you will deafen everyone in a mile radius.
