I am looking for a dedicated orchestral technique teacher in the West London area.
Im an adult student. Ive been learning double bass for a little over two and a half years, but focused entirely on jazz. My jazz teacher taught me enough arco to get my intonation solid and my hand strength up, but aside from that, I have been focussed on jazz.
The last couple months, Ive been putting more time into arco, circa an hour a day. But I dont think the progress is coming as it should. And I want to keep my jazz teacher focused on jazz.
For what its worth, Im on about page 19 of Simandl. At the moment, Im using a German grip carbon bow, because I never got comfortable with a French grip but Id be happy to change to a French grip if a teacher could get me comfortable.
Does anyone have any suggestions and contact details for teachers in the area who might be able to help me?
