BTW, just as a side note, Ian said he never uses the bridge pickup on any of the basses he's played in that Priest Premier Guitar Rig Rundown.

Interesting. For decades I've never used bridge pickups. I don't like the way they sound either alone or mixed with other pickups.

Fair enough but it's as close as I'm ever gonna wanna get without being a professional.

G&L Tributes are terrific. I especially like the bridges and pickups, which I believe are identical to their US-built counterparts. My only hesitation about the Tributes would be the weight. They tend to be heavy.

G&L's are GREAT basses and guitars. At least the ones I have played. I have a Fender jazz that is based on a 70's and I adore it. If I was somewhere I couldn't have my personal bass and someone handed me a G&L jazz, I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

I bought one, it had so many problems that I will never buy another tribute. I don't know how it made it out of the factory. I sent it back, bought a used mim 60s fender, and turned it into this with fralin pickups. Couldn't be happier.View attachment 4342271 View attachment 4342270
