Congrats man. Nice of them to release your promotional photo. So what does a Colonel do exactly? What can you do now that you didn't do before?

Once again someone at PERSCOM or wherever messed up and saw fit to put me on the list for COLONEL.

I think of a COL and I think of COL Potter from MASH or Col Jessup from A Few Good Men. Either way, Colonels seem so old.

I don't think I'm that old.
So, this will definitely be my last promotion...same thing I said at CPT, MAJ, and LTC...but this time I'm certain.

Not bad for someone who started out as an E1 private back in 1987.
we have a colonel russell williams here doing life for murder.....he was in charge of a big base and actually escorted the queen.....the pictures of him in his victims bras and undies are priceless....maybe skip col,and go straight to brig...;)

I've heard many times in my life that once one becomes a full bird they go from being in the military to being in politics. Still wear the uniform, just a radical shift in job responsibilities.

Or you could be like COL CA Beckwith and shepherd the next evolution of spec ops in to being.

Congratulations.

Congratulations, sir. Full bird is another class, a higher degree of respect. I hardly even met any. Light Cols. are everywhere.

Respectfully....from someone who went E1 to E3, back to E1, then up to E4, then E1 again.

Congratulation Colonel... Zulu:cool:

Potter and/or Jessup?

I know they're expendables... and still "old" in a way, but why not Colonel Allen Faulkner (Richard Burton) from the Flight of the Wild Geese?

Exactly the man to whom I'd ask my only son to be raised by, like Captain Rufer Jaunders (Richard Harris) in the screenplay.

thanks for your service and bein' who you are
