Oregon Bassist's Club!

You like the SX, huh? My backup is an SX shorty jazz clone... I really like it, though I have not got to play it all year (I have an exchange student using it... I teach K-12 music/band) I have directed everal of my students to SX basses when they are lookin for cheap-yet-good basses. I have yet to be disappointed. I think the only problem I had was needing to put a bigger screw in the strap button on one... No big deal.

Hey Oregon Clubbers... I am about to post a Hartke Attack VXL pedal to CL and thought I would give any OR Clubbers first shot, PM if interested...

Oh yeah, and thanks for the number! Woo hoo!

Here are my current basses - an old Epi Power Bass which I have Basslines Quarter Pounds installed in; and an SX 5 string fretless with active MEC's installed. I love them both like they cost thousands.

Getting a red tortoise pick guard from china for the SX in a month or so... <sigh> its been ordered, that's just the shipping time. I hope it at least fits.

With some elbow grease :D it will fit.
The area of contention will no doubt be around the neck pocket.

It has been observed that in the construction process, the pickguard is mounted first then routed for the neck so, you will need to work that area. The holes for screws may not also line up but, they are usually covered up, if you don't mind drilling new ones.

Anyone else have anything to add?

My old Jazz pickguard is red tortoise. Wanna buy it? PM me if you do.

Considering moving from Vermont to either Corvallis or Portland. Can anyone tell me whether there is much jazz being played in Corvallis? Here in Vermont there are weekly jazz jams and I was wondering if there was anything like that in the Corvallis area. Don't see many postings on craigslist for Corvallis compared to Portland.
Thanks

Whoa I just found this! Do I get 58?

've been to two NW GTGs and met some cool players. Factoid: at 4Mal's place there were 12 bassists and 5 were lefties playing righty.

Probably a northwest thing, right?

Geography: To Portlanders, or Portlandiaers, Redmond is "the town you go through on your way to Bend."

Actually, if you threw a dart at the center of Oregon, and missed, that would be Redmond.

Hey Oregon people... Like cars? Like Motorcycles? My band is playing at a Car & Cycle show this Saturday in Newberg along with a couple other bands... feel free to come tell me how much better you are than me...

Question about the rules: May we post for sale items in this thread? I cannot promote the product I manufacture, and I'm fine with that rule, but I'm thinking if we have, for instance, amplification stuff to sell or trade and the geographical proximity is an advantage to both buyer and seller, this could be helpful to all.
