Original Cort Action Bass upgrade?

I have what I'll assume is an earlier 'original' Action bass than what you're referring to and is quite different than the newer Actions of a decade or more ago, so likely not of much help here. mine is a quasi-Fender P with a J at the bridge and scooped cutaways ala early ESPs, probably from the '80s. but if this sounds familiar I'm very happy with the classic sound it provides yet typically could use a beefier J to equal the P. any pics?
here's a crummy shot showing mine with the brown mahogany body - lower center ...similar?

Yes. I mean the old Action Bass. Not the “plus” series. Or other newer AB models.

I was planning to buy it and make some upgrades. Like changing pickups, neck etc.

Its wood is not bad so giving nice tunes.

Does it worth? What do you think?

It looks like a standard PJ configuration to me, which leaves you tons of options. Controls are Vol-Vol-Tone.
Don't automatically assume you need to upgrade anything, unless you know it's defective. It may be fine as-is.

As I have a Cort B4 with active pickups, I have never used passive except my first bass when I first started, so I want to give a try for good passive pickups.

Do you know any good pickups for this bass? SD, ESP or etc?

if it's like mine they're pretty darn good as far as sound, and they go real cheap when they can be found cos the build quality is generally nothing exceptional, but as usual the electronics can always be upgraded with myriad choices. If you get it and change the neck I'd be interested in buying that from you.
for PUs, the Geezer sets get plenty of luv for their good ol' Fender replication, but it comes down to what you prefer if the standard sound doesn't appeal to you. what sound / style of music are you focusing on?

I know I'm usurping the thread but it seems to be the only one with any activity regarding Cort action, hope you don't mind.
Could someone please measure the overall length and body width of their Cort action or point me to the info?

I need it to be lightweight and more manageable in a small room than a typical P or J, so 2" to 3" off would be a gain...it's already been ordered anyway for $140 on night shoping, due to arrive at the end of month so was hoping to put the wait time to good use choosing a gig bag that wouldn't be too long to be too lose on end.

That' weird, all reviews say action is very light (some claim sub-7lbs), lighter than most short scales except Ibby Mikro (sub-short scale). I'll see when it arrives, it's certainly better for room and occasional jams than my current bass (13lbs)

P.S. I see know the thread is about the original action, new ones are probably quite different, especially in weight.
