Output Jack Wear?

You mentioned that there is a popping sound when when unplugging. That is probably the battery turning on or off. Just turn off the amp before removing or inserting the plug from your bass or unplug from the amp first.

Switchcraft 12A jack

I don’t have an amp yet, so I’ve been using GarageBand through an audio interface. I mute my computer when I plug/unplug because my audio interface doesn’t have an on/off switch. It pops a little kind of randomly sometimes during practice, even with a new battery, but not to the extent it bothers me. I’m hoping a new cable will fix the issue. I’m not equipped to do any soldering myself:ninja:

Another thing that has been a cause of a popping noise is a loose battery connector. The prongs that connect the battery can flex which becomes an intermittent connection. Squeeze the connector shown on the left of this photo so it fits tighter. This has been a problem many times in my past. Do this on the battery also. Just might be that simple.
