Overdrive which keeps low end WITHOUT a mix knob?

I've found my sound, but I'm just wondering about a nice overdrive which doesn't suck all the low end out? (I'd rather have another pedal so I don't have to mess with my settings on the DHA...)

and a few others I'm forgetting now are all overdrives that I've tried that hold the low end fine. For that matter, I've actually encountered very few overdrives that lose bass. Fuzzes seem to be 50/50 or worse and pretty much every distortion I've tried (even those designed for bass) lose low end.

For a fairly traditional tube overdrive type sound, I use the Sansamp VT Bass. It keeps low end just fine, and just adds a preamp gain type drive sound.

I'm currently using my DHA-VT1 as a light OD always on pedal, and add the Catalinbread SFT for a heavier grit. I find they play really well together, very warm, and no low end loss whatsoever.

The Voodoo DOES have a mix knob. I believe it's basically a tubescreamer circuit with a blend which is why a lot of bass players dig it

Absolutely true. Mental slip there. It's a great pedal though and with the Keeley mod you won't lose any low end even without the clean blended in.

i just got a VT bass.. though it is technecally more in preamp territory, it functions as a dirtbox just fine. i guess the only real differnce is weather its always on or not..? either way, i agree with everyone that raves about it..

Also if you feel like trying something a bit different, the DDyna Thinman is a great OD with great low end.

Even though this does have a blend knob, I'll mention it... a Way Huge Pork Loin replaced a Sparkle Drive on my board. I notice no bass loss at it's lowest internal trim pot setting. At it's highest it boost the hell out of low end. I ended up keeping it at the min internal setting.

My DOD 250 has many sonic virtues, but it surely sheds low end.

The HBE Hematoma, OTOH, keeps the grunt.

+1 to the Tech 21 VT Bass, as well as earlier Sans Amps.

It's been so long since I had a 250 (it was the 2nd OD I ever tried on bass) that you're most likely right and I'm just not remembering correctly. Now that I've tried so many other OD pedals I'd like to try a 250 again. At the time I remember I really liked it.

The Barber B-Custom Cool has an internal bass trim pot.
It gets and keeps LOTSA bass!

No one mentioned the MXR Di+ I loved the Overdrive on this. I now have a SWR Interstellar Overdrive preamp so I have no real use for it anymore.

Wounded Paw Battering Ram, I'm running to practice now and can't elaborate, check out grgryx's (sp?) video for it on YouTube. Keeps 100% of low end, with variable overdrive AND fuzz/octave fuzz. After I got it, it reminds me of Mastodon's bass sound on the album Remission.
