Overwhelmed and Need Direction on Cabinet for Reggae/Rock

Thanks for all of the responses and yes I'm all over the map. I picked up the LMIII used relatively cheap as it has many of the controls I'm looking for to get me somewhat deep with the VLE option.

Question: If I can find some extra $, how would the Mesa Subway 15 fare paired with the LMIii. I would imagine it's slightly underpowered to drive the cab to its potential.

I want to do this once and not have to play the game moving forward.

It'd drive the Cab just fine. Driving a cab to its potential is overrated anyway. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the LMIII other than the fact that you might need a pedal for overdrive or compression, which is something that is obvious to anyone buying it.

SVT-410HLF is the most pillowy and deeply sounding cab I ever played. Mids are scooped, great for reggae or dub.

If you are handy with power tools you can make 2x10 out of single sheet of ply and two Eminence bp102's. That could get you in the Ampeg 410hlf tone profile ballpark but with the smaller footprint.

Wanted to give everyone an update on the direction I took here....

I had in my head going into this post that I would follow the majority in this thread. I ended up pairing an Ampeg 410hlf with the Little Mark III and it's exactly what I was looking for. I cannot believe how low this thing goes and does what I need it to even at low volume. The headroom allows me to play softly which gives me the tone I was chasing. The footprint was my concern but anything 115 to 410 was going to take up floor space, this just extends upward.
