Ruth is awesome.

I'm trying to figure out why they brought in Wendy's "brother" Ben. Their relationship is a little strange. I’m only at episode 3 though.

Marty books REO Speedwagon for a big event at the casino and has a meeting with REO’s agent or booker, “Dickey”. Dickey explains the contract rider to Marty as requiring the following:

Dickey then says “Just kidding about the oolong”.

Marty suggests to Dickey that they sub out the sound system to Marty. Dickey explains that bands get nervous about subbing out sound stuff. Marty offers Dickey $100K to smooth that over, which Dickey finds acceptable.

Well I thought it was funny. And REO does appear at the end of the episode.

Ruth is awesome.

She's a good addition to the cast. But she's not a patch on Lotte Ritter from Babylon Berlin. Who walks a similar path in a much less accommodating world. And gets it done without showcase scenes of rather implausible violence. The Rochambeau is what it is. It works. But manhandling someone twice your weight across the deck and over the side pretty much requires cooperation. I guess the show is American. Such scenes are de rigueur.

Still think it's probably the best show currently running. Best English language one for sure.

Finished Season 3 today. Many plot twists, pretty much unpredictable. Very intense so if you’re looking for something light, this isn’t it.

So I’m rewatching Ozark from the beginning. I’d forgotten how all the major characters were originally introduced. And I’d never understood Jonah’s odd obsession with dead animals and such. Well after meeting Wendy’s brother Ben in Season 3, all of a sudden a whole lot of dots are connected now going back to the beginning of the story and Jonah.

When a year or more elapses in between seasons, it’s easy to forget details from early in the story are relevant later.

Just finished watching season 3 yesterday - I feel exhausted, lol. Don't want to give any spoilers so I won't talk about the plot - but that was easily one of my favourite seasons of television ever.

It just goes to show how Netflix has spoiled us for quality tv.
I tried to watch season 3 with my wife and found it excruciatingly boring.
I mean, nothing happens.
But, I am not a fan of Netflix. Its all about the music and famous actors. No quality writing at all.
Try Amazon. Way better writing.
Check out Catastrophe or Fleabag. Amazing writing.

Ozark just serves as an example of how the public will laud anything remotely resembling quality TV.

On the other hand, I record The Price is Right and watch it every day.

Drew Carey is a stoned mega happy version of Bob Barker and is a delight to watch.
i am always happy after watching.

Man I can't stand Drew Carey as the host of Price is Right - and I am kind of scared of who is going to replace Alex Trebek or Pat & Vanna when the time comes. That said, I have been watching tons of Match Game with Alec Baldwin and that is pure gold.

As for Prime - I just finished watching The Boys (which was amazing - it was good to see Antony Starr from HBO's Banshee in another role, even if I absolutely hated his character lol), and I have started watching The Man in the High Castle, which one episode in has me hooked - definitely some great TV on Prime.

That said, lots happens on Season 3 of Ozark; I found it to be a roller coaster - but I can see where some might find the brooding pace to be to much. I have been a huge fan of Jason Bateman since Arrested Development (Seasons 1-3, the Netflix seasons have moments but are mostly arse), so admittedly there is a bias there.

I am platform agnostic - I only have Netflix and Prime (as well as HBO through my cable provider), but I have seen enough trailers for programs on Hulu, Quibi, etc. to know that there is content elsewhere that I would absolutely love to see. Netflix has some really great shows - Bojack Horseman, F is for Family, Lost in Space, Stranger Things, The Umbrella Academy, Locke & Key, Ozark, etc.

REO SPEEDWAGON Hits Billboard Charts Following 'Ozark' Appearance

Following multi-platinum classic rock band REO SPEEDWAGON appearing in an episode of Netflix's award-winning drama "Ozark", the group finds four of its hits on Billboard's Hot Rock Songs chart, plus an album charting on Top Rock Albums, along with Rock Producers and Rock Songwriters chart positions.

"Ozark"'s episode (Season 3, Episode 3) "Kevin Cronin Was Here" named for REO SPEEDWAGON's vocalist Kevin Cronin, featured a live performance of the band's "Time For Me To Fly", along with lead character Wendy (played by Emmy Award winner Laura Linney) singing along to the song in her car.

Hitting the Billboard's Hot Rock Songs for the week of April 11 at No. 10 is the band's "Keep On Loving You", "Can't Fight This Feeling" at No. 13, "Time For Me To Fly" at No. 15, and "Take It On The Run" at No. 16. The band's 1988 compilation album "The Hits", which includes all four songs, enters Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart at No. 49.

I thought season three was excellent. Loved the brother's story arc. His performance was superb and it made me genuinely feel sorry for people that can't control their thoughts and feelings which is something I've never really had to deal with or thought was very real. Interesting how art can make you see something from a different perspective than you normally would. I guess that's what it's good for. I was emotionally exhausted at the end of the season.
