P and J String advice (DR, EB, DA)

I have three sets of strings and two basses that need strings.

Strings:
-DR Sunbeams .105 -.45
-D'Addario EXL165
-Ernie Ball 2834 Nickel

Basses:
-Fender AO 50's Pbass with Lindy Fralin Pass pups and have never changed the strings (~2months).
I'd love to go with FW but cant break myself from the veratility of RW.
I figured the Sunbeams would be a happy alternative.

-Fender 60th Annivesary Jazz Bass with Lindy Fralin Pups (+5%OW) and a BadAss II Bridge. It needs a "spa day" BAD. I had been using the EB 2834 strings on this Bass for quite sometime because the local music store conisitently had them. I have realized that for a while I have needed to switch brands of strings. Been seeing rave reviews for Sunbeams with Jazz Basses.

I play all styles in studio sessions and live performances... mainly Funk/Rock/Jazz/Country

My Rig:
Aguilar TH700
DB210
Cali76 Compact Bass

Thanks!

I would ditch the EB and DA strings, I am not a fan of either. Sun Beams are my main strings, but I have J’s with Pure Blues, nickel LoRiders and Fat Beams, they all work extremely well with J’s and for that matter, P’s, PJ’s single coil P’s, dual humbuckers. I have one bass that does not have DR’s on it, it has TI Jazz flats, it has a Novak gold foil pickup which is an absolutely killer pickup by the way.

DR Sunbeam ~ Smooth and warmth sweet tonal , lasting tone. GHS fast fret able extend her lifespan well.

EXL 165 ~ Basic nickel roundwound tone along with some metallic voicing recipe, could sound dead pretty quick depend usage and sweat thing .GHS fastfret din't help much.

Zero experience on EB round, but great experience on both Group and Cobalt flat.

If i own your both bass and only 3 string choice limit, i will install the Sunbeam on P and EXL on J.

But i still prefer Ti flat on P and EB 2814 on J after long term bass string journey.

I grabbed an extra set of sunbeams to make two full sets.

Gonna throw a set on both the P(Maple F) Jazz Bass (pao ferra FB) tonight and tomorrow.

my jbass has +5% LF JB PUPS and I’m curious about the mid bump with the Sunbeams and the pups.

Hoping for good results!!
