Veering this thread slightly back on topic....

Awesome!:hyper:

Oh! I'm thinking of trying that series/parallel mod on a p pickup, I assume I just split the wire connecting the two halfs, and wire them up to a series/parallel switch almost like two pickups.

Yeah, I noticed your spelling wasn't that bad today. :D ;)

Sorry dude. :)
I'm the one to talk... pot calling the kettle black. :ninja:

We're bravely derailing this thread again. :hmm:

Quick someone post a picture of a precision bass.

I haven't bought one in a while ... :D ... and I can't keep posting mine again.

I bet people are already sick of that Tony Franklin of me. :atoz:

edit: Thanks rustynuts :)

Hahahaa! We need to buy more P's to keep the thread on topic!

Pretty sure that would do it, though I haven't pulled the PG off of that one yet. I'll be restringing it in the near future so I might just pull the guard to check.

I keep tlling myself I need to buy a Jazz, but every time I go looking for one I come home with yet another P bass.

I'm so pathetic....

Nice rusty!

I love that color combo. :)
Especially that pickguard.

It's my favorite right now by a long shot. A bit heavier than the others but still my favorite.

The thumbrest looks awesome on that!

I'm going to do something similar with my Electron Blue MIM, only with the white pearl PG and thumbrest and a Gotoh 201 bridge. As soon as I get the rest of my parts here I'll put it together. The white pearl looks a lot better than the plain white PG that's on it, and I don't really like playing without a thumbrest any more....

Would that bass be awesome if you also added a J-pickup at the bridge? :)
Just throwing the idea out there. :ninja:
Funny you should mention..................... I have a J pickup handy, and enough pots etc.....:ninja:

If you do, would you mind telling me?

A Jazz with a P pickup, or a P with a P/J setup, counts!:ninja::D

Sounds awesome.

I dig the thumbrests too.

THAT looks sweet! Have you got a closeup of the thumbrest?

I have not, but I'll take one soon.:)

so after i took of the pickguard, which is just getting of the tone/volume knobs and screws, how do i paint it, i got black graffiti (right in english?)

I've never painted a PG before, but I would assume you just prime it and paint it, right?

Anyone else?

If you do, would you mind telling me?

I shall.

I've got the P with P/J covered, but I still think I want to try a Jazz....I just prefer the P body style.

Sand the shine off with high grit sand paper, like 1000/1500 and spray a few coats of black, maybe, its what I'd do.

Thank you!:)

Well, you could do something like this.

Would be cool.

Oh, and the thumbrest, its mirror pexspex, sanded smooth on the edges, I just glued it to the pickguard, was too lazy to do it properly.

whats to prime? (im dutch :p)

:ninja: grondlaag... of grondverf ... eerste laag verf dus. :ninja:

edit:
Darkstrikes advice earlier given translated for jos.

:ninja:
C'thulhu away...............
