Your story sounds a lot like mine. Been about 3 years for me since i've had a P. And you have impeccable taste in color combo's You photo skills are much better than mine.

Just got this '06 Lakland Bob Glaub yesterday. I'm lovin' it.

Awesome bass, Rayzak. I was so close to picking up a Glaub...but the deal on the P was too good to pass up. My next bass will likely be a Lakland, I have been impressed with every one I've played.

Already a memberm but wanted to share my new favorite parts bass.
When I replaced the neck on my squier with a one piece maple, I realized I had enough parts to build one with this body I've saved for a while (I don't know why but I love the look of it, plus P style with no pickguard FTW) Turned the tone knob into a distortion unit with a few cleverly placed diodes and it can really roar when I want it to.

Also really loving this hi-mass string-thru bridge I got off ebay, looks great and my sustain goes on for days, at half the price of a badass.

That IS odd. It looks like it is using a pre-existing pickguard hole so it should be simple enough to make it go away if you were so inclined.

Yep, it's a Dean Playmate Edge 09. The stickers say "Sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma"(red) and "I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person" (white).

The MIM P is a huge upgrade lol.
