Covers and tugbar should be here in a week :D

My new-to-me P Bass came on Friday!

I've only gotten about 10 hours in on it so far, but I really like the tone & feel. I wrote a review, which should be posted here pretty soon in the Reviews section.... Just for fun, I did a "Valenti" photo, haha. Anyway, here it is:

Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass Ash V in teal green transparent. I put DR Black coated strings on it, and have also changed the strap locks back to the stock Schallers.

So, can I get a number?? I never thought I'd be joining this club!

Wow, Dave, the man who started the thread "Why all the love for Precisions?"
maybe now you'll see :D

Yup, it's me! That thread answered a lot of my questions about why they are so popular and convinced me I ought to have one. I've only had it 4 days and gigged with it once, but it's becoming a real contender for my #1.

Here's the thread:

I still don't think I will ever lay out $$$$ for a vintage P, but I can definitely see a use for a modern, clean P/J, especially one like mine with an active preamp and 5 strings, which is what attracted me to the American Deluxe (with humbucker in the bridge, so I can still get my MTD Artist tone). The neck is a little thicker than I'm used to, but I'm getting there :)
